Details: Cordyceps (Cordyceps sinensis) belong to the species of ascomycetes fungi. Cordyceps grows in the mountains of Tibet at the height of about 4 km.

If in a warm season a spore of cordyceps penetrates into larva of one of Lepidoptera types (hepialide), then after winter is over and the vegetation begins, the spore transforms into a root. Out of this root a fungus body grows, looking as a blade of grass.

In spring a developing fungus uses larva's nutrients for its growth but later on interlacing with the rootage of the herbs growing nearby, uses their nutrients as well. The shortage of oxygen in high mountain conditions, low air terperature, its fluctions and also its connection with space make cordyceps stronger and powder-intensive.

Cordyceps sinensis was originally used exclusively by the court of the Chinese emperors for restoring energy, promoting longevity and improving the quality of life.
